The story begins when Alice follows a white rabbit, who just happens to be wearing a waistcoat and a pocketwatch, down a rabbit hole. The story was first told by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson ( Pen Name: Lewis Carroll) on a boating trip with a friend and three little girls, one of whom was Alice Liddell.
